Printing to the edge
Our printers do not print to the edge and the flyers will normally have a white border of approx 5mm, if digitally printed. If you want printing to edge, then you have two options.
NOTE:
This only applies to orders under 250,orders over are litho printed
1.
Finished size smaller than A5 - we can print 2 per A4 sheet as with normal A5 but because of the required bleed and smaller-than-A4 printable area, the end flyer is smaller than A5 (approx 138mm x 200mm, although we will attempt to make it slightly bigger if possible).
2.
Finished size exactly A5 - we can print 2 per SRA4 sheet therefore you will pay the printing price for SRA4, which is an additional
£0.10p per sheet.
If you want printing to the edge then you must supply suitable artwork i.e. the correct size with a bleed. If you do not do this, then we will not be able to print your job. Please do not simply assume that whatever you produce will be OK.
Explanation of bleed:
When we print and cut out the flyers, there may be a small amount of shift. To ensure that your background image prints to the edge on every flyer (i.e. no white bits), you need to produce an image that is 10mm larger than the finished flyer. We then cut 5mm off each edge to give you a finished flyer size of either A5(148mm x 105mm)or smaller A5 (138mm x 95mm. Any text and important elements of the flyer's design must be kept at least 3 mm inside the finished edge of the flyer.
If you must have flyer excat size ring to discuss, setting up files.
Vector/Non-bitmap Artwork: Vector artwork, as created with programs like Adobe Illustrator, generally give better results than bitmap artwork (e.g. from Adobe Photoshop) especially if the image has to be enlarged. The best format to supply artwork in is EPS - Encapsulated PostScript. If this is not possible, the next best vector format is PDF (Acrobat). Please ensure all fonts and any graphics are embedded within the EPS or PDF file for maximum compatibility. If you cannot supply vector artwork, we can also accept a wide range of bitmap formats. Please use a minimum of 300dpi up to a maximum of 600dpi at the actual printed size. For best results, we recommend that you save in a TIFF, Adobe PhotoShop or Windows Bitmap rather than JPEG. We can, of course, use JPEG, but you may well get better results from a different bitmap format.
Note:
If using Adobe PhotoShop, please flatten the image before sending it to us. Please remember, any text and important elements of the flyer's design must be kept at least 3 mm inside the finished edge of the flyer.
